Text

Helpless helper
I’m supposed to be here
For you and everyone
To ask your questions and maybe find
An answer to the questions we both know
Are not dumb.
But we are separated now by miles and the walls of my home
And your home;
And even though the computer bridges us
I just don’t think
You realize
I’m still here – or maybe you’ll find out
You never really needed me in the first place?
And that is what keeps me
Staring at this screen, tap-tap-tapping,
Even though my brain is finished with this whole business,
Every last thing.
Here’s hoping I am still a good helper, hoping I haven’t let you down.
I guess we won’t know the truth of it
Until this is all over.
Here’s hoping.
